Dirley "Mae" Jennings-Antcliff Obituary (1930 - 2023)

Dirley Mae (Christian) Jennings Antcliff, 93 of Virden passed away peacefully May 9, 2023. She was born in Guthrie Center, IA on May 4, 1930 daughter of Chester Bryan and Dirley Christian of Atlantic, IA. They moved to Red Oak, IA and there she met her husband, Marlin M. Jennings and came to Girard in 1949. They were married March 6, 1950. Marlin passed away in 1985. She met Arthur E. Antcliff in 1990 and they married on October 27th. Arthur passed away in 2012. Mae had worked at Just Lay Egg Corporation, Dr. Finney's office, the Girard High School cafeteria, and Dicky-John where she retired from in 1990. She was a member of WBCCI Airstream Club, AT&T Pioneers Club, Virden Senior's and Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden. She loved music, as she was always at peace listening to Gospel and Country music. She loved to travel, bingo, having coffee at Virden Bowling Alley and having lunch with her dear friends at Doc's Drug Store in Girard. She also very much loved all that had touched her life. Mae is survived by daughters Twila (Norman) Horrighs of Lebanon, MO, Robin (Raymond) Darringer of Linn Creek, MO, Roxane (Chris) Fuchs of Acworth, GA and Penny (companion John Doughtery) Chesher of Virden, IL; son Marlin Kent (Ruth) Jennings of St. Louis, MO; 17 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Helen Jennings & Lora Christian and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Lois, Doris, Betty and Darlene and her brother Dewey. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden with Pastors Steve Ford and Nathan Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery in Girard. Visitation will be from 11:30 AM until the time of services on Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested and may be made to Pleasant Dale Place or Grace Southern Baptist Church and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for Mae's family.
