Louise M. Neighbors Obituary (1922 - 2022)

Louise M. (Ruger) Neighbors, 99 of Virden passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022 at Sunrise Skilled Nursing Home in Virden surrounded by loved ones who will strive to honor her memory. She was born October 30, 1922 in rural Girard, the daughter of John T. and Stella M. (McGinnis) Ruger. She married William Robert Neighbors and he preceded her in death. Louise was a hard worker in all she did and retired form Dickey John in 1986. She lived a good long life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with family and friends and she devoted her life to being a mother. She truly loved her family and that was her proudest accomplishment. People who knew her, knew that she was strong willed, and you always knew where you stood with her. She was slight in stature but was not easily intimidated. Louise was of the Christian Faith. She is survived by 6 children, Betty (Dan) Famularo, Karen Feyen, Brenda (Dennis) Kurtz, Craig (Kathy) Neighbors, Connie (Tim) Young, Robert Neighbors, many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband William "Bud" Neighbors, daughter Patricia C. Feyen, son John T. Feyen and sister Lois Wallis. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday at Virden Cemetery with Reverend Terry Turner officiating. Friends are asked to join her family directly at the Cemetery. Her family is grateful to the entire staff of Sunrise Skilled Nursing Facility for taking wonderful care of our mother.
