Phyllis C. Rachunas Obituary (1935 - 2022)

Phyllis Carol Rachunas of Springfield passed away in the early morning of August 29, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born December 27, 1935 in Waggoner, IL daughter of Clayton and Anna (Hutton) McGown. Phyllis married Joseph Rachunas in December of 1972 and he preceded her in death October 14, 2005. Phyllis is survived by her 3 children: Richard S. (Peggy) Saunders, Mark (Penny) Saunders and Laurin Lamb; 7 grandchildren: Angela (Jeff) Place, Michael Saunders, Katina (Robert) Wright, Ashley (Robert) Cambron, Jessica (Jason) Adams, Clayton Barger and Ryan Saunders; 13 great grandchildren: Darryl, Dana, Brittany, Breanna, Lakyn, Caleb, Ethan, Olivia, Katelyn, Robert, Mark, Allison, Logan, Julia and Remi; 5 great-great grandchildren: Karter, Rowen, Zaiden, Deus and Eason and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and great granddaughter, Michaela. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 AM, Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Girard Cemetery with Rev. Dr. John Huxtable officiating.
